Lake Pend Oreille Kayak Series
The Eureka Institute with Selkirk Outdoor Leadership and Education, (SOLE), guiding expertise, we are excited to offer this kayak touring series on one of our countries hidden gems. Nestled on the shoreline of the glacially formed Lake Pend Oreille sits Sandpoint, Idaho – voted “North America’s Most Beautiful Small Town”. The city of Sandpoint will serve as the background for our kayak adventure, providing ample amenities to partake in before and after the fun begins!
Whether you just purchased a sea kayak and/or just want to know more about open water kayaking safely, this series is for you. Even though this program is held on one of the most beautiful lakes the US has to offer, it is really geared as an educational program to set you free to adventure on the waterways of the world for years to come.
Lake Pend Oreille’s 111 miles of shoreline provides the ideal setting to not only relax and unwind, but to learn and explore. The land explored by David Thompson and the Kalispell people provides an impeccable natural setting with hidden estuaries and private beaches, all while developing our newly found kayaking skills. This amazing natural world also provides ample opportunity to experience the flora and fauna of the region, all of which is possible with our naturalists and lead guides. Green Bay and surround locales will serve as our base camp during each weekend paddle, providing an excellent setting to learn and practice other outdoor skills, in addition to those related to kayak touring.
We look forward to sharing the place we call home!
