The Eureka Center: Our Sanctuary in the Woods

The Center has been made available to the Eureka Institute and is a private haven on 42 pristine acres, just outside of Sandpoint, Idaho and minutes from beautiful Lake Pend Oreille.  Situated amongst the finest skiing, fishing, boating, mountain biking and hiking the Pacific Northwest has to offer, it is a place of peaceful and energetic natural beauty.  It’s the perfect setting for camps, retreats, workshops, family reunions and weddings. The Eureka Center's beautifully wooded landscape has many trails and meadows, a bountiful garden, an outdoor amphitheater with stage, a large covered outdoor picnic/gathering area, a labyrinth, a 18 hole disk golf course and many other natural attractions.

Tent and RV / Camping - The Eureka Center is primarily an outdoor camping facility in a group setting!  We welcome both tent campers and RV/car camping without hook ups. We have plenty of meadow tent space with picnic tables. We provide several portable bathroom facilities with hand washing stations and plenty of drinking water is always on hand.   The camping areas are within a short walk to the Garden House and Main Stage. Our garden offers visitors a place to sit and a enjoy the beauty of nature's bounty. Try our refreshing pull-chain outdoor showers, "they're refreshing to say the least" and really get the blood flowing! Camping is usually included in the event fee if you are attending a workshop or other function. Cook stoves are not allowed during fire season so please check with our staff depending on the month you will arrive.

Wall Tent Options - For those of you who may not own a tent and would like to have some additional space, The Eureka Center can provide up to 6 wall tents, approximately 12 x 17.  Each tent can sleep from 4 to 6 people comfortably, and we can supply a 3" thick tri-fold mattress.  Options for upgrade include:

Dorm style, sharing with 3 others - $15/night.
Rent the entire wall tent for your group - Sleeps 4+ - $50/night.

The Garden House!  The Garden House is one of the most flexible on the property.  With it's comfortable outdoor eating palladium and it's meeting hall with rustic wood floors it truly speaks of community.  Sitting right next to the garden, "hence the Garden House", it creates a feeling of quite sanctuary and calm that nourishes both body and soul. 

Use of the Garden House, including 6 wall tents and the entire grounds, $750/Day

Vacation Rental - The Eureka Center offers a custom 3 bedroom, 2 bath home as a vacation rental. This 2600 sq foot handcrafted home is a unique sanctuary for the whole family to enjoy.  This warm and inviting home includes a great room w/ fireplace, full kitchen and dining room, hot tub and outdoor deck, as well as additional sleeping space w/ a convertible sofa and loft space.  Located within a quick walk to all of the main gathering areas.

Rental: $400/night

Off Site Options - For those attending a workshop or retreat who may want additional privacy there are other options available.  Bottle Bay resort is a mere 10 minutes drive and is on the lake and a beautiful setting.  There are also many vacation home on the Glengary peninsula, where the Eureka Center is located, and we are happy to assist in helping you get set up. For those that don't mind the 25 minute drive Sandpoint offers a multitude of great lodging, on and off the lake.  Below are a couple of links that may help and get you started!

Additional Notes:

Although most of our outdoor events are held in the warmer months, we can experience a variety of weather at any time, so it is best to come prepared.
No camp stoves or open fires are allowed during fire season. We have group fire rings in the months that fires are allowed.
NO SMOKING except in designated areas. Fire danger is high and we are surrounded by forests. Please follow these simple rules so everyone's visit is pleasant and safe.
